SAVE 20%: Whether you prefer it to be chilly indoors or warm enough to go without pants (no judgment here), Amazon's Smart Thermostat will adapt to and maintain your preferred temperature. As of Feb. 14, it's on sale at Amazon for $47.99 (original price: $59.99). That's $12 off.
Ever woken up sweating in the middle of the night because your blankets are suddenly too heavy and the room is suffocatingly hot? Fumbling around in the dark for the thermostat to turn down the temperature is never fun, and can involve stubbed toes and walking into walls. With the Amazon Smart Thermostat, however, you can simply ask Alexa to adjust the temperature from the comfort of your bed.
The Amazon Smart Thermostat is controllable by voice or by app, or you can set the temperature before you come home so you'll be nice and comfy right away. You can also schedule different temperatures for each day of the week, for up to four different time periods per day. However, if you prefer to be hands-off, the thermostat has automatic control — it can learn from your preferences and adjust the temperature accordingly without needing to be told.
At this price, the Amazon Smart Thermostat costs significantly less than its competitor the Google Nest Thermostat. Keep in mind, however, that the Amazon Smart Thermostat requires either a C-wire or a power adapter kit. If you don't already have one in your home, you can get a C-wire bundled with the thermostat for an even bigger discount (25% off, priced at $62.98). You will also need an Alexa-enabled device, but if you don't have an Echo or other smart home devices, your phone will work just fine with the Alexa app.
