PREORDER: Set for release on April 29, Nintendo Switch Sports is officially available for preorder as of Feb. 10. Grab a physical copy that includes a Leg Strap for Soccer matches from Best Buy for $59.99, or head to the Nintendo eShop to reserve the digital edition (sans Leg Strap) for $39.99.

Cue the symphonic menu screen melody: Wii Sports is getting a sequel on the Nintendo Switch.

Announced during Wednesday's Nintendo Direct event, Nintendo Switch Sports (good name) will feature several Wii Sports mainstays — Tennis, Bowling, and Chambara, a type of sword-fighting — as well as three brand new game modes for Soccer, Badminton, and Volleyball. All sports will support both local and online play, so you can duke it out with family and friends or compete with opponents worldwide.

And yes, customizable Miis are confirmed to be playable characters in Switch Sports — though they did undergo a minor yassification. (Never forget what they took from you.)

Nintendo already has a free summer update for the game in the works, which will bring support for its Leg Strap accessory to Soccer matches for "intuitive" kicking motions. (It's the same Leg Strap that comes with Ring Fit Adventure, FYI.) Another update scheduled for later this fall will add Golf to its lineup.

The game is set for release on April 29 with two different buying options: The physical edition that comes with a Leg Strap will retail for $59.99, while the digital version (no Leg Strap included) will sell for $20 less. As of Feb. 10, they were both available for pre-order through Best Buy and the Nintendo eShop, respectively.

You can be one of the first people to play Switch Sports by signing up for its Online Play Tests, which will involve participating in several random Tennis, Bowling, and Chambara matches from Feb. 18 to 20 so Nintendo can evaluate some technical aspects of the game ahead of its official launch. Registration for those play tests opens on Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 5 p.m. PST to anyone with an active Nintendo Switch Online membership, including trial account-holders. (Click here to sign up.)
