'Last Call: When a Serial Killer Stalked Queer New York' trailer digs into a terrifying true crime case
Based on Elon Green's award-winning investigative book, Last Call: A True Story of Love, Lust, and Murder in Queer New York, HBO's new four-part docuseries digs into the serial killings that swept New York's queer community in the early '90s.
The true crime series, titled Last Call: When a Serial Killer Stalked Queer New York, looks into the killer preying upon gay men in the city's queer nightlife scene and examines the prejudiced attitudes that hindered the case's investigation and left the queer community unprotected. Last Call promises to be a gripping story for true crime fans, but it's more importantly a story of how the queer community was failed by the justice system and the media. And it's extra relevant in our present moment, with anti-LGBTQ sentiments and bills on the rise.
How to watch: Last Call: When a Serial Killer Stalked Queer New York premieres on Max July 9.
