Prime Day 2023 isn't here yet but the deals aren't waiting

Prime Day is officially July 11 through 12, but the deals won't wait until then.

UPDATE: Jun. 28, 2023, 1:50 p.m. EDT This post has been updated to reflect current sale prices across several categories ahead of Prime Day.

We all know someone who refers to their entire birth month as their birthday. That's kind of how Amazon treats Prime Day.

On June 21, Amazon announced that Prime Day 2023 will start on July 11 at 3 a.m. ET and run through the end of July 12, which lines up with the familiar early-week, mid-July time slot that we've gotten used to since Prime Day outgrew its original single-day nature. New deals will drop every 30 minutes throughout that Tuesday and Wednesday.

Other deals, however, are already dropping. Like now.

Announcement day doubled as kickoff day for early access to select Prime Day deals. Some are invite-only (like this $99.99 43-inch Amazon Omni 4K Fire TV) and many are only available to Prime members — kind of the whole point. However, live sales from many big brands (like the Apple and Roborock deals below) that precede Prime Day aren't officially associated with the early event and don't require a Prime membership to unlock the deal.

We're tracking the best early Prime Day deals at Amazon below and refreshing the list constantly.

If you're looking to compare prices at competing sales from Walmart, Best Buy, and Target, we're tracking those, too.

Note: All newly added deals are marked with a, while deals with a 🔥 have dropped to an all-time low price. Amazon's exclusive invite-only deals are marked with a 📨.

Amazon's 2021 version of the Echo Buds is a solid AirPod alternative thanks to its active noise cancellation feature that can help drown out unwanted background noise without making things too quiet. The earbuds also allow for customizable EQ, and work with other voice assistants like Siri and Google (not just Alexa). Ahead of Prime Day, you can snag a pair for just $84.99, $55 off the original price.

The most recent 10.2-inch iPad — just iPad — is well under $300 with its 18% discount at Amazon, making it approachable for anyone who definitely wants an Apple tablet but wants to avoid Pro prices. The 9th generation iPad features upgrades like the speedier A13 Bionic chip, a True Tone display, and a better front-facing camera for crispier FaceTiming. As always, it works with the first-generation Apple Pencil.

Why we like it

Roborock just released their new S8 Series robot vacuums in spring 2023, so we're psyched to see them on sale already. Compared to one of our previous-favorite hybrids, the S7, the S8 introduces AI-powered obstacle avoidance, amped suction power, and dual roller brushes underneath. Roborock says that those last two improvements lead to a 30% increase in hair pickup. The "plus" version also includes a self-empty dock that holds at least two months' worth of debris before you have to empty it.

You can't not take advantage of Amazon's flagship 4K TV being under $100 — that's an unbelievably rare price for a 43-inch 4K model from any brand. (If you're one of the lucky Prime members who has this invite-only deal unlocked, you'll make it work.) The Omni is the smoothest way to experience Amazon's crowd-favorite Fire TV platform and intuitive app navigation. The two larger Omni sizes get particularly good marks for their crisp HDR handling due to their support for Dolby Vision.

Amazon already has the Xbox Series X Diablo IV Bundle on sale for $10 off. $10 off of a $500-something console isn't huge monetarily, but it's pretty significant in terms of timing — the highly-anticipated game just came out at the beginning of June and the standalone version itself hasn't even been on sale yet.

Out of all the automatic litter boxes we've looked into, the Petkit PuraX is the best one for skittish cats: "Its ergonomic shape more closely follows the traditional enclosed litter box that fraidy cats may find more approachable, with a flat top for potential storage or cat naps," writes Mashable senior shopping reporter Leah Stodart. Controlled via a mobile app (with multiple cleaning modes), it features a built-in deodorizing system and a large, seven-liter waste container that can fit cats up to 18 pounds.

Another of Amazon's seriously impressive invite-only deals, the internet's favorite sparkling water maker can add some fizz to the flavor of your choice and save a few bottles or cans along the way. SodaStream's spring 2023 release, the E-Terra, rocks a new interface with three settings of electronic carbonation control and lights up when bubbling.

You shouldn't have a hard time distinguishing your suitcase from other luggage on the carousel with this subtly-cosmic piece. The iridescent black version of American Tourister's largest Moonlight hardside spinner is 28 inches and expandable to maximize packing space. Amazon's deal also beats American Tourister's own website: This color is no longer available there, and the other 28-inchers are only on sale for $153.99.
